I have a curious affinity for books about women in peril from nature, though don't ask me why; my idea of braving the elements is staying in a hotel room with just a shower and no bathtub. This one gripped me from the beginning and cost me several nights' sleep. It reminded me of "In the Heart of the Canyon" by Elisabeth Hyde, which I also loved. ...more
