I feel like I should enjoy this book a lot more than I do. Intrepid girlWoman detective? Check! Alternate universe? Check! Hilariously specific bureaucracy? Check! LITERARY CRIME? Check! Dodos? Check!

He seems to be the kind of author who doesn't bother to explain what's going on until about three chapters in... but everything is so interesting, I'm up for the ride.

Lovely. Not quite a "so engrossing that I have to stay awake all night to finish it" kind of book, but very enjoyable all the same.

Funny and strange. Helps to be a book lover, or reader of the classics. I am definitely the former, but not so much the latter.
Pretty good. Clever twist, though I saw where it was going early on. Not as good as the Jack Spratt books, though.
