We’ve jumped on the Magic Tree House bandwagon!

In the third book of the series Mummies the the Morning by @mary_pope_osborne, Jack and Annie travel back to ancient Egypt. These books are a fun way to introduce kids to various points in history. So far the places traveled have been very kid friendly (dinosaurs, knights, and mummies), but I have to imagine with all the books in the series that won’t be the case for long.

Continuing with my shameless use of kids' books to boost my numbers. This one could actually be considered a little scary-Jack and Annie end up in a pyramid with a ghost queen and then they see a partially wrapped mummy. These continue to hold my son's interest and teach him about new places. ...more

The kids like listening to these. They are too repetitive for my taste, but I can play them in the car and they will still whining and complaining while they are on. Even works in the store if I put them in the cart with headphones.
