Not as enjoyable as his short story collections, in my opinion. At least with those, you can read for 10-15 pages, put it down, and pick it up at another time. (perfect for On the Pot reading)
After a while, it becomes difficult to believe the veracity of some of his claims as to just how wacky his childhood was...which was also challenged by the family with which he based the Finches on. (a fact I discovered after reading the book)

This was my favorite of Burroughs, and I remember thinking it was amazing at the time I read it. Unfortunately, this whole genre (I call it "grim memoirs") just got over-exposed and took this book with it; ultimately, it just couldn't stand the test of time.
