2024 - seven years on, this has not weathered well. after reading all of TOG i begin to see that maas's writing is decent, but her characters are extremely formulaic and the ships all start to feel incredibly samey after awhile. and combined with maas being a zionist and the lack of any substantive queer rep in any of her books, she just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. i won't be reading any more of her stuff.
