Tom spends most of his life skipping school and playing virtual reality video games, following in the footsteps of his gambler father. Perfect for fans of Ender's Game.
In the future, WWIII is being fought over control of precious resources by corporations in space via teenagers hooked up to the warships through their neural implants. Sound familar? Perhaps, but if you give this book a try, you WILL find an entertaining and suspenseful science-fiction tale that IS reminisceient of Ender but also wholly unique and original. Thouroughly enjoyable.

It took me waaaay too long to finish this, and I definitely did not enjoy it as much as everyone else, apparently.

Some of the friendships and overarching themes in this book felt excessively tropey. Overall, though, this was a fun read. I definitely didn't see all of the twists coming, so that's a good sign.
