Well, this was a very good book.
It hooked me up since the beginning, it was full of magical and weird things that maintained the line story very addictive!
The ending was gold, everything was happening, and I just wanted to stop and beg for anything bad happened to my raven boys!
And oh god, I did love my raven boys, they were just so real, full of insecurities, flaws and errors that just made them more real and human...

I loved this book! I am so glad that I started this series. For me this book kept moving and had so many mysterious elements that always had me wondering what was next. It was a multi perspective book but that didn't bother me. I enjoyed being in each key characters head, seeing what was going on in their heads and seeing into their back story. I also loved how the author left so many story lines open for the future books. I like that the main relationship in this series is also taking its time ...more

I don’t know how I love this book more each time. The first time I read it I was on vacation and super distracted and couldn’t get into the story the way I wanted. The second time I tried the audiobook and loved it but with audiobooks I tend to fade in and out because I’m usually doing something else while listening. This time I read the physical copy again. No distractions, no rushing, and I really feel like I got to immerse myself in the story like never before! LOVED ...more

Co k tomu říct. Ani čeština nedokáže zabít tuhle dokonalost. Miluju Raven Boys jako žádnou jinou knihu. OK, nebo stejně jako Harryho Pottera. Můžete si to přečíst třicetkrát a pokaždé to bude zábavné. Pokaždé si všimnete nových detailů a pokaždé Vám to pomůže vymýšlet nové teorie ohledně pokračování série. Gansey je pro mě nejlepší postava literatury :D A v současné chvíli (po dočtení Blue Lily, Lily Blue) už vymýšlím NOVÉ teorie o tom, proč je tomu tak. OK, abych byla alespoň trošku objektivní a popsala důvody, proč tuhle sérii zbožňuju v takové míře... Jde o jazyk. Měla jsem vždycky pocit, že v rámci série Shiver se Maggie nejdříve vypsala a tady už se projevuje její literární génius. Přijde mi, že každé slovo má své místo i svůj důvod. Jednotlivá pásma postav vůbec nesplývají i co se týče jejich vyjadřování. Je hrozně těžké o tom mluvit, protože moje hlava je plná myšlenek a všechno je to zamotané v jedné velké kouli, takže souslednost nulová.. Kde jsem to byla...jo, Maggie je génius. A je to tak. A je to poznat i v češtině. Ač mám teoreticky problém s některými frázemi/částmi (právě třeba díky snaze odlišit přímou řeč jednotlivých postav, kde Blue, Ronan a Adam mluví takovou až obecnou češtinou ve srovnání s Ganseym...místy mi to trochu lezlo na nervy, ale chápu tu motivaci - PLUS jsem díky tomu milovala Ganseyho ještě víc, jen jeho vyjadřování se dalo tolerovat), i v češtině z té knihy čiší tajemná atmosféra, ta lehkost psaní, magie...VŠECHNO.

Ještě něco Maggie dokázala - vytvořit knihu plnou postav, které si všechny zamilujete. Každou z jiného důvodu. Všechny raven boys, celou rodinu Blue...ok, až na Barringtona (pardon - v češtině Baltazar Roup :D), ale ten nemá žádné kladné vlastnosti (dle mého) a beru to i jako záměr. To samé pak platí pro následující díly - v nich jsou i záporáci zvláštně roztomilí.

Ta kniha má prostě podle mě všechno - poutavý děj, propracované postavy, vtip, napětí, zvraty, tajemno, originální romantickou linii, je dokonale napsaná, vzbuzuje ve vás správné emoce a nutí vás o ní přemýšlet ještě po jejím dočtení. A proto, přesně proto je pro mě dokonalá. ...more

That last line.... WHAT???????!!!!!!!! WTF!!?? Oh my god I'm SO intrigued right now!!!!
I must say though that I wasn't liking this book at the beginning. Specifically the first 230 pages. Yes, I wanted to know what was going to happen and get to the good stuff, but those pages were so not interesting for me.

I love this book and I love Maggie for writing it. There aren´t words that could fully express my affection, adoration, admiration, and awe when it comes to this book. Exhibit A is the fact my review got lost when my Playbook switched off because its battery decided to tease me a bit...or because I forgot to charge it. Whichever suits you best.

I think Maggie Stiefvater is a genius. She possesses talent in almost all art forms imaginable and it is people like her that I sometimes think are the reason for me not having any, because God must have run out of gifts when he/she was giving them to those people in bulk. This is the old grumpy me talking, don´t listen to her.

I adore Maggie and I am glad I found my way to reading her books and did not get put off by Shiver eternally. The joke´s on me, because in the end, I found my way to the Shiver trilogy as well. But it is nothing compared to this book. I consider this one pure genius. I love Maggie for creating this magical, beatiful world that has you hooked from the minute you start reading. I love her for creating Gansey (or Richard "Dick" Gansey III.). I love that she made him both young and old, smart and dumb, perceptive and completely oblivious at the same time. I consider him the best book character of all time. He even trumps Mr. Darcy in my eyes and that is saying something. I love that Maggie made him use words like nonplussed, quiddity or repugnant, that I had to google in order to understand what Gansey was talking about (or, sorry, use the Kindle dictionary..).

I think this story has the most beutiful love story of them all. In the beginning, you feel like they are destined but as you continue reading, you start doubting your judgment and start making up theroretical scenarios where the future turns out to be the way it´s supposed to. But with every glimpse of the future, you start feeling secure again and you´re sure it has to be destiny. But it is not said, not until the end of this book and not even after that. And that I love. It gives you that element of suspense, while at the same time, your belief in this couple is cemented. Or at least that was the case with me.

I can´t believe that the first time I read this book, I didn´t feel particularly fond of Ronan. How wrong was I... I blame the Gansey goggles :D Or my inability to pay attention to any other boy...and Ronan´s rough edges and bad-boy demeanor just made it possible for me to not fall in love with him. But I realized my mistake this time around. He is as good a friend anyone could really have, he´s loyal - and the fact that I now know what he´s going trought thanks to the Dream Thieves helps as well - he´s amazing. I loved all the little things that made me smile because I knew what was coming. And I love what he did for Adam, even though Adam wasn´t as glad as I was. It is one of my favorite scenes.

Ok, this is where I should stop my pseudoreview..I love this book. LOVE IT. LOVE IT. LOVE IT. It is the best book I read in 2013 and it was the most surprising one. It became a substantial part of my life (mainly on the account of me speaking about it all the time and annoying all people around me. Yes, I am aware of the fact.) and it is on the top shelf of my favorite books ever alongside Pride and Prejudice and Harry Potter.

GO READ IT!!!!

This is a very interesting book and the last sentence was strange... but I really liked it, the book that is.

It felt more character driven than anything and that brought about a different feeling and connection. There was just a lot going on and towards the last half of the book I felt like I knew each character enough where I kind of connected with their inside jokes. Actual rating 4.5 stars.

I first read this book two years ago. In anticipation for The Raven King I decided to reread the entire series. And I'm so glad I did! I had so much fun. It was so nice to see these characters again, but at the start of their journey. There was also a lot I had forgotten about, or missed the first time I read it.

The Raven Boys was a group read and I enjoyed reading everyone's thoughts as we went along, but I'm still uncertain of how I feel about this book...

From the very start certain things held my attention but it became difficult at times to focus as the plot moved very v e r y slowly for a very l o n g time.
