What Members Thought
Some books have more meaning when you have some experience in life....for me this was true of this novel. A working class family, a mother and wife that lives for her children, and a son unable to realize a love greater than his mother's... I don't have a son so in some ways I may not be able to identify with this relationship, but as a single mother working hard to try and give my daughter a better life, I understand Gertrude Morel's complete commitment to her children.
