What Members Thought

Easily the best Sherlock Holmes book I have read so far. Atmospheric setting and an interesting plot.

I might have enjoyed this more had I read it instead of listening to an audio. Holmes is smug enough without having an annoying poncy accent thrown on top. I also wasn’t particularly invested in the story or the setting. Having recently fallen in love with Thomas Hardy’s moors I found Doyle’s to be far less intriguing. I know that they were supposed to be menacing but you can do menace and beauty simultaneously. On the plus side we get more Watson and less Holmes which I for one prefer.
