What Members Thought

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I was expecting a long slog, and the pressure of finishing it before the end of the year stopped me pausing to reflect as much as the book warrented. Whaling was a very important activity in European history in New Zealand and I realised that I knew very little about it. My first surprise was that Queequog was obviously a Maori, although his name was not a Polynesian one. I fortunately chose to listen to an Audible version read by William Hootkins

Very overrated and drawn out epic of a well-known story about Captain Ahab's obsession with the white whale. This had all the potential for great drama, but fell far short of expectations.
