I listened to this on audio and although I thought I knew what the story was about I was not entirely correct. I really only knew the basic premise of the story and this was so much more. Hester Prynne turns out to be a wonderfully admirable character and I loved little Pearl. I never realized that Hester had been sent to Boston ahead of her husband who never arrived himself. Very helpful
I read this book with my son for his AP Lang class and it was very helpful for my son. The highlighted words and explanations throughout were wonderful as well as the chapter summaries.
