I had to study this for my literature course in school. It was a vim that divided the class very much along gender lines. The girls were all meSmerised by Heathcliff but of course the boys all thought it was far too unbelievable and recoiled at all the emotional stuff. The first half showed some powerful if rather melodramatic scenery and characters. The second part with the younger Catherine wasn't anywhere near as interesting.
