I don't read much of Epic Fantasies, so I don't think I could fully appreciate what the author had created, but its a nice book and I loved the character development!
I loved how this still stayed middle-grader-ish despite having to capture everything - Epic =- Fantasy-ish! :)

For older children, as some of it is pretty scary for younger kids, I think. But it was good and intriguing. We listened to the BOCD. I had a hard time getting used to the reader - not my favorite - but the story was worth it.
