This book was so much better the first time I read it. No, scratch that - I think my standards were so much lower the first time. This has been on my TBR forever and I'm so glad I finally got to read it! I think it's a great story all around - the setting works, the characters are interesting, there is some action and drama and a sweet romance.

I finally see what all the fuss is about for Leigh Bardugo’s books. It was great! Excited to see what happens in the second one.
Practically finished in one sitting. A lot better than I expected, and I’m anxiously ready to read the sequel. And I feel bad for loving the Darkling, but I just have a thing for bad boys, especially when they’re tall, dark, and handsome 🤤
