I started the House of Night series in my huge Twilight hangover which was about three years ago.
I loved how Marked was so much more mature than Twilight, and apart from the Vampire theme - completely different. It was such a dark mix of Hogwarts boarding school but for Vampires. It had all the ingredients for a addictive series.
I don't think the writing was that amazing, and the plot does get really slow and times but overall I gave this a 3 out of 5 stars. It's a good first book to a seri ...more
