I absolutely loved The Selection and The Elite had me hooked just as much as the first book. It was a wonderful mix of fantasy and dystopian concepts.
America is a really tough character but she gets scared of what the end of the selection will mean for her, and that’s really what this book is about. Either she wins and then she’s the future queen and she doesn’t know if she can handle that responsibility – if she can be a leader when so many of her ideals conflict with how the country is actuall ...more

What happened? I was debating whether or not to give this book two stars, but couldn't bring myself to do it. That's probably because I loved the first book, and the flow of this one was still just as fast. I read it in a night, so to me that says something. For those of you who've read my review on Crescendo, you know how upset I get when the second book in a series isn't nearly as good as the first. While this doesn't compare to how ...more

I enjoyed this book better this time around. I think because I knew America would make a decision by the end. I won't change my rating because that was my honest feelings when I first read it. I would probably give it a five now.
