Yawn.

I tried, really tried to like these books, the "Caster Chronicles," but they just aren't that good. The characters are uninteresting, the story line is slow, laboring, and the so-called 'dark fantasy' is neither very dark nor particularly fantastical. Usually I find at least one character in a book that I like, even if it's a secondary one, but I can honestly say that there's no one in these books that I have any connection with.

I love the descriptive writing the authors present in this series. It is easy to visualize the details and get lost in the story. The main characters are back and grown with their experiences as they naturally would have. The southern-isims
are one of may favorite parts, The authors captured the south and it's charming quirks beautifully. The sisters.......LOL

Shelves: young-adult, fantasy, series

*small spoiler but nothing HUGE*

The book was really heavy with Ethan's visions/memories and it got on my nerves a bit, but other than that it is a great read.
Still like the characters and story and the end hints at a POV change in the next book...so that is driving me right into it. ...more
