Slow (almost painful) start, but it unfolded into a good story.

5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 - A strong character piece in a much trod genre that offers a refreshingly human perspective avoiding the biggest tropes!

I really enjoyed this book, it was an engaging and interesting plot which dealt with the principle protagonist Liz/Abi's with a strong sense of emotional sensitivity. It told the story of a Mafia hit witness in a way that is entirely easy to relate to.

Nora Roberts has a great skill for writing flawed and vulnerable, but powerful and fully realised female characters I c

The Witness I LOVED this book..it is my first Nora Roberts (as herself and not JD Robb).

Elizabeth was heartbreaking as was Liz to a certain extent.... Abigail was great, she made me laugh and at times she almost made me want to cry...Brooks what can I say about Brooks other than I think I found my new BBF...Abigail and Brooks together were just great.

Julia Whelan did a wonderful job with the narration.

What a pleasant surprise - this was an audible sale purchase for me. I loved the reader and I loved the main characters - the leading lady is smart and capable and a bit socially dysfunctional and the hero is charming and I loved seeing him break down her defenses. There are murders at the start - she's the Witness- so a background threat for her the whole way through., and I loved how she wins her life back. ...more

The story played out and never felt rushed and the story line never felt incomplete and swept under the rug to get to the conclusion. It was an engaging read.

This was my first Nora Roberts book. I can't tell you why I've avoided this author, there was never anything really behind the decision other than I've never really looked into her

The relationship was so sweet and tender. I went in expecting a thriller, but after the initial setup, the actual story was just a smooth soft flow. Brooks Gleason is Bae goals.
