I missed Al and Trent in this one.

Rachel Morgan is a kick ass witch who is always getting herself into trouble. With the help of her friends, she must always create interesting solutions to get herself out of the messes she creates for herself. She has a difficult time trusting people and men in particular. Reread with the audiobook: I had forgotten everything from these books. I'm still enjoying them however.

I'm liking this series more and more with each book, but unlike the previous books so far, this put me in a very melancholy mood. It had an underline sadness as they talked about Jenks' life expectancy. I really enjoy this character and I hope to see him in plenty of books.

Although this book seemed to take me ages to finish, I did quite like it, but there were lots of things that irritated me about it too. As others have said there were a lot of typos and by the fourth book in the series, decent proofreaders should have been hired!

The basic plot of the book was really good and I really enjoyed the fast-paced storyline. Basically Nick, Rachel ex-boyfriend, has managed to land both himself and Jax, one of Jenks' sons, in a huge heap of trouble all over The Focus. R Although this book seemed to take me ages to finish, I did quite like it, but there were lots of things that irritated me about it too. As others have said there were a lot of typos and by the fourth book in the series, decent proofreaders should have been hired!

Rachel, being the nice girl she is, has to go and save them and manages to get herself in even more trouble than ever before. And what does Nick do? Help her? Try to fix things? Nope, of course not. He just continues to screw her over and over again. I just hope this is the last we see of him as I didn't like him much in the previous book and now I want to join the queue along with Rachel, Jenks and Ivy to kick his ass into the ever-after.

I loved Jenks the most in this one - Rachel made him human sized and whilst he had lost his fairy powers, he certainly hadn't lost any of his hilarious nature. I didn't particularly like everyone, including Rachel, drool over him, but at least he used it to his advantage at times.

Rachel was just plain stupid in this book. She was constantly making silly mistakes about everything and then digging herself deeper and deeper into the pit! She has major trust issues, even if she won't admit them and finally wakes up to how she feels just as she is on the verge of death! Her trust issues, sometimes trusting people when she shouldn't, is really going to get her killed one day!

Again I didn't like Ivy and I don't like all this living vampire hunting that she does around Rachel. She just cannot seem to accept that Rachel is straight and has no romantic feelings for her, but still tries to push her even when Rachel has told her no! If Rachel's not careful in the future I can see Ivy attempting to rape her at some point and that is not something I really want to see/read. I think Rachel needs to get out whilst she can. And I'm not so sure about Kisten at this point either following his conversation with Ivy at the end. What is it about Rachel that all the vampires, living or undead, feel that they have to have a bite of her?!

I have heard the series gets better after this book, so I will continue with it and I just hope Ivy backs off, Kisten stops acting like he owns Rachel, Nick stays out of the picture and Piscary stays in prison! ...more

So I finally finished this! It took me roughly over a week. I don't know why I struggled with it as after all it was a really good read.

In this book we see Rachel's relationship to her friends change, as we go on a suicidal mission to save Nick & Jax
