This book is meant to be slow-roasted in the fire pit of your brain. The images provoked in the minds eye by Marquez's long, wordy sentences can only be enjoyed when you have plenty of time to linger on and savor each and every one. I recommend this book for a distraction-free vacation, so you can get lost in the colorful, painted lives of the Buendia family.
