Outdated, cliched, and kind of offensive. Or maybe it was the writing that was offensively bad and I couldn't reconcile- okay, I had to read the book in a book club and am still bitter about it wasting my time.

I read this book on summer vacation sometime in middle school or early high school. I was at the beach and at this point in my life hadn't become someone who really 'enjoyed' reading. This book did it for me. I didn't put it down and read it in a few days.
