Sometimes when I finish a really good novel, I will turn back to the beginning and start reading it again, at least for the first 30 or 40 pages, to get a better understanding of the characters and stories, to see what I missed. I liked the idea of this book, and the novel within the novel was beautiful and inspiring and engaging. The present day story was a let down, and I feel that it actually detracted from the overall message of love and following your heart.

Worth a read, as the writing is gorgeous.

This book has a current day story and a novel within the story that takes place in the 13th century. It took me a little while to get into the earlier story, but I ended up really liking both stories and how they fit together.
