beautifully written, explores the devastating impact of racism on self-worth, had some horrific scenes that virtually guarantee i will never reread this again. the audiobook is read by morrison and very well done -- if you plan to put yourself through this i think it adds to the experience over reading the print

I wish that I loved this book. I loved parts of it (the use of Dick and Jane, for example). Though I should love Morrison's books, this was too depressing and full of abuse for me. Shallow, I know. I'm sorry.
