The best read I've had all year. The story is humorous, hearbreaking, and dreadfully tragic. Some very memorable characters, such as Fermin and Fumero. I reccommend reading it when you have nothing else to do, because you will want to forget about all your other obligations in life. ...more

Lost books, lost loves, mystery and intrigue...what's not to love? Incidentally, the author composed and performed music to go along with each chapter of the novel. See if you can get a copy of the CD! I'd like to re-read this one again, more slowly next time. ...more

part adventure, part romance, part gothic horror, and very much a love letter to books and literature. atmospheric, melodramatic, and entertaining.
