I re-read this via audio, and it's just as good. I'm in love with this book.

This is one of the most wonderful books I've ever read, and I encourage everyone to go buy copies to give as gifts to the readers, historians, and/or writers in your life. Loved every minute of this book! Definitely one of my recent top 10s. I fell in love with the characters and was completely fascinated by the story-telling through letters. I want to do it all over again.

I think I enjoyed listening to this more than I would have enjoyed reading it. It was a full-cast reading by seemingly real British actors and I loved that. What drew me in was my curiosity about lesser-known details of WWII. This was a story of the German occupation of the island of Guernsey, of the British Channel Islands. I loved the book and how it was mostly written in letters revolving around the characters. Although it took me some time to finish, it was mostly because I was reading outside of my normal genre.
