Well, this book has reminded me again that I'm a plot-driven person. It doesn't mean that I didn't like this book, but I simply enjoyed it less. This is too bad because the descriptions of the setting really brought me back to my time travelling in Kerala.

The problem with reading prize-winning books (in this case, the esteemed Booker Prize) is that you expect them to be prize-worthy in the sense that you want to gush over them when people ask what you’re reading these days. I say ‘the problem’ because a lot of times the novels don’t quite add up to what you imagine ‘prize-worthy’ equates to in your head. Thus begins this review of The God of Small Things.
