I read this book shortly after it was announced as an Oprah's book club selection. I know it has gotten great reviews, but I remember feeling like it dragged, just not being able to get into it, and not enjoying it very much.

If you don't like missionaries, you'll love this book! :) Barbara Kingsolver's writing is super rich, and her details of this family's crazy Congo adventure are as heady as a malaria fever dream! A good read for a cold winter nite, or when you really think your life sucks.
