I really liked this book especially because what Elizabeth has written here is applicable to so much more than just creative work - in my opinion, it applies to pretty much everything we do in our lives (and at any rate, I strongly believe that all of us are creating something or the other everyday). Once we realize that the power that holds us back is nothing but an irrational fear of the outcome, we can begin to recognize it and release the fear in order to live free, more empowered lives.

I was gifted this book several years ago by a dear friend, but it took me until now to actually read it. Now was the perfect season of my life for it to manifest though; when my industry is at a standstill through no fault of its creative workers. I found this book to be largely invigorating and only a little condescending at parts 😅

Really, two-and-a-half stars. There's some sparkling optimism that's nearly impossible to deflect but also so much privilege that it's often hard to relate.

Inspiring book about creativity and its importance in our lives.
