I like to say I don't read quickly (I can only move my mouth so fast, you know?), but this book tested that, as I could think of little else other than reading it for the few days I was in the story. An absolute tour de force of storytelling, voice, plotting, and tone.

I'm not usually interested in thrillers, but Gone Girl was recommended to me by SO MANY people that I just had to give it a try. Truly this was an addictive book - I was constantly thinking about it when I wasn't reading it. It somehow got right into my brain and I was always trying to puzzle out which way it was going to twist next.

I'm giving it 4-stars instead of 5 because I thought it lost its momentum a bit by the end and I wasn't as satisfied with the ending, even though I'm not quite sure ...more

Groan. Seriously, just... grooooaaaaan.

Look. I watch Reality TV. I enjoy 90's nostalgia to a very loyal degree. I own a pair of earrings shaped like tiger heads. What I'm trying to impress upon you is that I am not above the general masses. I'm not a book snob. I absorb popular culture just as much as the next person.

Disenchanted love story. Like Fight Club without testosterone. The ending was rather disappointing, but still left me wanting more. I could not put this book down!
