Now, I don't know if this *exactly* counts as reading it, but we listened to the unabridged version of it on a road trip (17 hours worth, I think). So we experienced the book.
And I loved it! The narrator is captivating, the story is full of unexpected twists and always a plus, I received a history lesson from Greece to Detroit to SF to Germany. My only complaint is the ending wrapped up abruptly. But all good things must come to an end. ...more

I started this book three times and didn't get drawn in. Once I did, I stuck with it. I loved Desdemona, but didn't bond with anyone else. I kept feeling like I needed to love Cali's character, but only did so out of sympathy.

This book took me a while to read. At first I couldn't get into it, but I kept reading or coming back to it, I'm glad I did. Great story!
