I think it may have helped my understanding to not have the immediate mention of Snow White in the synopsis. I kept searching for an obvious reference or plot thread related to that fairy tale. The mirror was a constant, and obviously Snow was a given, but I guess I missed other more direct connections. There are so many references to other fairy tales and fairy tale events!
