There are two things I wish for my younger self: that I had been given this book to read during that pivotal time in adolescence, and that I had had a support group like the four PTS's.

When I heard that they were making a film adaptation of this, I held my breath: After all, for many of us, Judy Blume is so much more than a writer and her stories are so much more than stories. They feel like OUR stories. But the film is a carefully constructed love letter to the book (with the added bonus of adding depth to Margaret's mother, Barbara, and her grandmother, Sylvia--something that the book cannot do in quite the same way because it's from Margaret's POV.)
