Here was another one that was always out at the middle school library I worked at. When it finally came in, by chance, just before a long weekend, I snatched it up. The story of how a young girl's interest-turned-passion for roller derby helps her to step out of her comfort zone, gain confidence and make new friends is a fun one, and Jamieson's knack for character expressions in her delightful illustrations really add depth. A really good graphic novel - I learned a lot about roller derby, but also accurately depicts the awkwardness of friendship when long term friends hit middle school and have developed at different rates.
