The first in the "Hales' Hazardous Tales" comic series is excellent!! Though the novel itself made me chuckle, I learned many new things about history and was able to better put into place the facts and events that I'd learned as a kid. I wish this book existed when I was studying the American Revolution! Alas, since the author is just 3 years old than me, that would've made him about 15 years old at the time.

I finally got around to reading the one that started them all--one of my favorite children's comics series ever! It's interesting that his history-telling is a little less refined that it will become. How to put it into words...perhaps there are fewer interruptions and interjections in later volumes? Without sacrificing the trademark humor, of course. The whole series is spectacular, and while it's aimed at middle-grade readers, it's suitable for any fan of history. I'm super excited about the l
