My Mom owned this book with this cover...so, naturally, I now have it...it had cost 75 cents back then(there is no cents symbol anymore?! Oh the days of typewriters are surely missed!)

My son had to read this for school, and for some reason, I don't think I ever read this classic. The story of Holden Caulfield runs for just a few days - the time period after he realizes he has been expelled from Pencey Prep - (at least the third prep school that has given him this dubious distinction) to when he returns home.
