I loved the concept of a Literary Apothecary, especially one that was a floating book-barge, but the rest of this story just fell kind of flat for me. Maybe its because I have such a different concept of relationships than the main characters that it was difficult for me to relate to their situation (sorry I can't really explain that more without giving away spoilers). A disappointment - I thought I would really enjoy this novel, and was thinking along the lines of The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry, which I found touching. I guess the basic premise of getting a letter of good-bye from your lover, and NOT OPENING IT, just ruined the premise for me. I liked the thought of matching the right book with the right person, to find a "cure" for what ails you.
