Esta no es una historia de amor; puedes encontrar más romance entre las páginas de A Game of Thrones que en este libro. Tampoco es una historia erótica; hay *una* sola escena explícita y es mucho menos gráfica que cualquier cosa que pueda encontrarse hasta en el más light de los NA modernos. Esta es una historia de intrigas, conspiraciones y venganza.

Todo esto en un mundo crudo, donde la pedofilia, la violencia, la esclavitud y las violaciones son la norma. Por lo que más de uno puede ver sus sensibilidades afectadas.

Ahora, no se asusten. Aunque estos temas son tratados con una ligereza suficiente para hacer creíble que forman parte de la costumbre de los personajes, no son romantizados ni excesivamente detallados. Y por esto último, tal vez, es que resultan tan perturbadores. Pacat te muestra vislumbres de oscuridad dejando todo lo demás a tu imaginación; y todos sabemos lo terrible que puede ser la imaginación.

Y a pesar de todo eso. De que no hay romance, de que la única escena explícita ni siquiera ocurre entre los personajes, de la crueldad y la violencia y la pedofilia y las violaciones. Prince Captive es increíblemente sensual. Tiene la sensualidad de lo prohibido.

El príncipe Damianos ha sido traicionado por su propio hermano. Quien tras la muerte de su padre, el rey de Akianos, lo ha enviado como esclavo a su mayor enemigo, Laurent príncipe de Vere.

Así comenzará una lucha de orgullos y poderes, de atracción y odio que, al igual que la construcción de los personajes, es magistral. Y no exagero. Pocas veces he leído personajes tan complejos e interesantes. Sobre todo Laurent... muero un poco cada vez que pienso en él.

A golden prince was easy to love if you did not have to watch him picking wings off flies.

Captive Prince is awfully entertaining; a fast read, in a world full of depravities and political intrigue and treason. Captive Prince is not, at least this first instalment, a romantic book. There are a lot of content warnings, including rape and paedophilia, and I would definitely not look at it if these were triggers for me. Con todo el hype que hubo en algunos canales de Booktube por esta historia, creo que pensé en algún momento que no era para tanto; es por eso que me demoré en leerla. Y ahora digo porque no la leí antes!!
Captive Prince me encantó, es una historia como las que no leo hace bastante tiempo, si bien tiene un poco de todo; no me parece tan perturbador como lo describían..
Continuaré de tirón con toda la saga de hecho...
Damen y Laurent pueden odiarse y amarse más por favor!!!!
