This book was about interracial problems, I think that Steven McQueen inspired on this to make 12 Years As Slave.
I remember that was a great story, cotton slaves in the 1800's South of United States. Really deepest story, with characters that makes you think about the principal problem and plot of the narration. It's a must have 💜

Somebody to run to. It seem too sweet to bear.

This book was many things: heartbreaking, both the warmest and coldest thing. But, above all, this book was hopeful. Not at first; it was not a hope that came easy. It was a hope well-earned, a hope the protagonist had to fight to create and to keep. It was a book about love, as well, the softest and most eccentric forms it could take, and how all of them make life a little more bearable one step at a time.

Alice Walker writes beautifully, each l

I remember being a girl when my brother picked out this movie in the club and then when we got home sat my mom and dad to watch it and sent me outside because I was too young to watch it.

At the first few pages I was getting really angry at Celie's fate but I liked the way she grew -strong, confident, free- so I started to enjoy her journey.

Favorite character: It definitely has to be Sofia followed by Celie.
Least favorite character: Albert isn't faring too well but Celie's Pa... ugh!

PopSugar Reading Challenge #5: A Book Written by a Person of Color.

It was an interesting read in a very interesting style, Celie’s life start all sad but we see her get a kind of happy ending, it is an interesting journey. Nettie’s was interesting too but somehow I felt there was something missing.
IT was a nice read
5 stars
