Review #1:
Okay, so I know a lot of readers hate "chick-lit", but I love, love, LOVE this book. I'm not exaggerating. I didn't care for The Fault in The Stars (Sorry!), but I think this novel for me was the greatest love story. I have not read Eleanor & Park yet, so I'm not out of my mind quite yet. Anyway, this novel started with the typical my-dad's-a-jerk hook (I don't usually use curse words, for I actually appreci See Review #1 for a without-spoiler review; See Review #2 for a spoiler review.

Review #1:
Okay, so I know a lot of readers hate "chick-lit", but I love, love, LOVE this book. I'm not exaggerating. I didn't care for The Fault in The Stars (Sorry!), but I think this novel for me was the greatest love story. I have not read Eleanor & Park yet, so I'm not out of my mind quite yet. Anyway, this novel started with the typical my-dad's-a-jerk hook (I don't usually use curse words, for I actually appreciate the original English alphabet), then onto a whirlwind romance to, wait for it...Paris, France: The City of Love and Lights! What could be more romantic. Then, a tres parfait romance concluding to a satisfying," Aw!"

Review #2:
So it all starts out with Anna Oliphant's stuck-up father, who writes novels with death in the end with no mercy, and has grown-up women swooning, whisking Anna along to The School Of America in Paris (SOAP). Of course, Anna was forced to go to Paris, so her father could show her off to other celebrities. Then, she meets Meredith, another SOAP student, who helps Anna move into her dorm. Later, at lunch, Meredith introduces Anna to her group of friends, which is where Anna meets St. Clair (Etienne). It wasn't exactly love at first time, but in my mind, I saw a spark.
Then, Anna secretly becomes in love with St. Clair, even though St. Clair already has a long-standing relationship with his girlfriend, Ellie, who is a year older than Anna. She also finds out that Meredith loves St. Clair, too, so the love interest had become forbidden, due to their strong friendship. Anna still won't tell Meredith that she also loves St. Clair.
As the story continues, St. Clair becomes in love with Anna, which is noticeable because of the many site-seeings around Paris. Amanda Spitterton-Watts had noticed, and then started bullying Anna. Amanda's nickname for Anna is Skunkgirl, because of Anna's stripe of bleached hair.
Later, (I might be missing some important details because my library loan ended a month ago) Etienne and Anna start getting serious, including sex, getting drunk on Anna's birthday, Etienne vomiting on Anna afterwards, Etienne admitting his love for Anna, and many fights. In the end, Etienne ends his relationship with Ellie for Anna, and they actually do French kiss during the book. I recommend this to ages 12 + up, because the occasional sex scenes weren't graphic. I know I left out important details, but I will add that on once I loan the book again. ...more
