Way superior to the movie. This book really brings you to the brink and back again. Strayed's insights and observations are beautiful and profound while being grounded and pragmatic. I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone. This was book 9 in my 2015 ultimate reading challenge "a book with a one-word title."

A really interesting and enjoyable read. By the end of the book Cheryl felt like a friend and I was happy at all she had achieved and overcome. She definitely was the queen of the PCT. I liked the descriptions of all the places she visited on her hike. Reading this book made me want to go out there into the great outdoors and have my own adventure.
I liked this book. its a book about someones journey in life and on the PCT. I recommend it especially if you dont want someone to preach at you but just share their life story for you to ponder.
