Ryan's Bed by Tijan is stunning. It's gripping, real, and raw. The depiction of loss and the effects it has on both an individual and the family are meticulous, as are how those in the friends and acquaintance circle may react. And in true Tijan fashion, she also manages to entertain the reader. She had me by the feels, and heart and head. I thought this was a wonderful heartbreaking book but also a wonderful love story. It was love story that had many layers. Tijan did a fantastic job portraying those layers. It was the love between husband and wife, the love between parents and children, the love between friends, and love between lovers. Each one is different but just as important. Then tragedy hits and sometimes those strong bonds hold and some break but the love is never lost. This book made me think of the three times my moth ...more

Amazing and beautiful!

I knew this book was going to move me from the first chapter and I have to say it did not disappoint. I laughed, I cried and I fell in love with these characters. Tijan thank you for sharing this beautiful story with us and I am going to re-read it now!

Shelves: 5-stars, read-more-then-once

The messages in this book are powerful and are somethings that are so so important to be spoken about. Not to glorify suicide but really start to tackle the effects of it on those left behind.
TIjan tackles lots of issues including (but not limited to) grief and loss, family relationships and break downs , anger , despair ,bullying , the pressure on teens in schools and just socially as well
But also friendship, love , growth , healing and most of all HOPE .
