There are a lot stories about relationships and common human behaviors on the market. The “Fallen Crest” series belongs to the first books where I can identify with the main character and I don’t feel like I´m reading the story of someone else. I understand Sam´s point of view on most things because I have similar experiences. But not only because of that have I loved the book. Generally Tijan becomes one of my favorite authors. I like “Carter Reed” and I adore the “Fallen Crest” series.

The “Fallen Crest” series belongs to the first books where I can identify with the main character and I don’t feel like I´m reading the story of someone else. I understand Sam´s point of view on most things because I have similar experiences. But not only because of that have I loved the book. Generally Tijan becomes one of my favorite authors. I like “Carter Reed” and I adore the “Fallen Crest” series.

The story takes place two months after the first one. Sam and Mason are official a couple and happy with each other. But Sam´s female schoolmates are jealous and envious and Sam´s mother doesn’t approve their relationship. Known as a selfish, egocentric person who puts her life and happiness above her daughter´s life and happiness and abuses Sam emotionally, she gets mentally ill when she loses Sam to Mason and Logan. Driven by the fear to be alone and to lose the control over Sam, Analise prohibits Sam´s and Mason´s relationship and threatens them with ultimatums and possibly legal actions. Her mother´s behavior evokes suppressed memories and demons and destroys Sam´s relationship with her mother forever. Through this experience the bond between Sam, Mason and Logan grow stronger.

Born and raised not only by a cheater but also by a selfish, egocentric person who puts her life and happiness above mine, I know how difficult and painful it is when family members don’t act like family and hurt you constantly. I know how hard it is to leave them behind and make a new start. To read about it in “Fallen Crest Family”, I wish once more I had the Kade brothers in my teenage years. Mason and Logan are great and their love and loyalty for Sam save her. I´m surprised that Sam´s running behavior still isn’t a huger topic in that book. It sails near the wind of an eating disorder but no one seems to see it or to broach the issue.

Tijan writes in a vivid and detailed describing way and that is why the reader knows what the characters feel and gets all the emotions. She is able to get an extraordinary depth, because she defines the psychological aspects very well. She handles the combination of love, sex and relationship in a serious way. There are a lot of storylines that evolve the protagonist’s relationship. Fortunately I can continue to the next book and read more about Sam and Mason. They are amazing.
