Between this and the book, “Just Mercy,” I have become convinced that we need to do away with the death penalty. Our justice system is too flawed, prejudiced, and discriminatory to be in the business of putting anyone to death. After spending 30 years on death row as an innocent man, I’m grateful for Anthony’s story as one of how forgiveness has set him free, but I feel angry on his behalf...and a little discouraged if I’m honest.
