Little Women has always been one of my favorite stories, mostly because I love the March sisters! This graphic novel adapts the classic novel to the present day, but it stays true to the characters and the spirit of the original novel. I love how each of the sisters grows and develops through her own unique challenges, and how the sisters learn to love and support one another and their families. A great story with a fresh, modern update.

The classic novel has been retold into a modern tale of sisters in a biracial, blended family and to those who might wonder, the heart of the classic is still in full force in this beautiful graphic novel adaptation.

This is a great way to approach the book, while it has some (in my mind) unfortunate omissions--particularly the actual aging of the characters. It is a decent book that stands on its own for those who've never read the source material (leaving room for said person to read Little Women and still experience it new) and those who've reread Alcott hundreds of times.

What a fun, modern retelling of the Little Women story. I loved that we had an interracial set of siblings and they all still loved and fought just as all siblings do. I liked the modern take on some of the story details and think this would be a great addition to any upper elementary/middle school library.
