What Members Thought
This was Thomas Hardy's last novel, mostly because he was so upset by all the controversy surrounding it, that he vowed never to write again. And by controversy, of course, I mean things that are completely commonplace and accepted in today's world. Not that that makes them right, of course. :) I didn't like this quite as much as Tess of the d'Urbervilles, but still, definitely worth a read for any fan of English literature.

I find it interesting to note that this novel was published in the same year that Freud's (and Breuer's) early major work, "Studies on Hysteria," was published.
