Bookstagram made me do it. Well, sort of made me do it. I really want to read Lock Every Door. But since I have to wait until July, I thought I would read another of his books first. I enjoyed this one. The writing was good and I was impressed that a male author can get into the mind of a women lead character so well. The plot was great. I really enjoyed Riley Sager’s Final Girls and had high hopes for his second book. I did have some reservations considering how adult thrillers have been turning out for me but The Last Time I Lied lived up to my expectations. It’s apparent that Sager really loves ‘80s horror movies - Final Girls has a more obvious reference but it’s here too with it’s summer camp setting.
