When I pick up a book, I like to form my own opinion, figure out how I personally feel about the book, etc. I do not like to form my opinion on the basis of others and what others think or feel. That is how I am able to give the books I read a fair review. I knew coming into A Court of Frost and Starlight that many people found the book lacking, stupid, pointless and so forth...I wish, in this case, that I could say that they are wrong. Having read this about 3 years after reading the rest of the series definitely affected my enjoyment. It is after all tumult, destruction and unexpected life changes and no one seems to be dealing too well. The Winter Solstice is approaching adding pressure of making nice, re-uniting and gift giving. I only finished reading this one because I plan to finish the series... otherwise I probably would have set it aside and moved on to something more interesting. This book was boooooring and slow and melancholy/sad. I’m tired of Nesta and Elain not really communicating with anyone. I’m tired of the constant Rhys-Feyre love fest. Nothing really changed, nobody is growing or changing, just more of the same.
