3.5✨ Very entertaining, thrilling and unique take on mermaid horror. Never really read anything like it! I enjoyed how much the science aspects were thought out. But it is pretty long-winded, and at times unbearably cheesy. Also for such a long-winded story the ending was really rushed. The author spends a looooot of time setting the stage, letting us get to know these characters really intimately, and it ends without a lot of resolution to their personal story lines. This was reasonably well written but for me it was just not enough to keep my interest throughout. Perhaps a bit too long
