Mira Grant always gives me something delicious to chew on. Tori's sister has been presumed dead for 7 years, after the ship she was on to film a mockumentary about mermaids was found floating and deserted in the middle of the ocean. Now Tori has been invited to go on a return trip, to figure out once and for all if mermaids exist and what happened to the previous crew. This was a fun action/adventure/monster thriller. I liked all the thought that went into making the monsters scientifically realistic. It was more than a monster versus human story (although there was plenty of that), it was a story of humans trying to understand what was happening and using science to find out why it was happening.
