Had encountered two stories in this collection previously, “The Dream,” and “The Mystery of the Baghdad Chest” — though the version of the latter I read was an expanded version that substituted ‘Spanish’ for ‘Baghdad.’ An interesting collection, though a couple of the stories weren’t mysteries, such as “Problem at Pollensa Bay” and “Through a Mirror Darkly.”

I quite enjoyed this short story collection. Started it for the 12 Days of Christmas & Coziness readathon in December and finished it off in January.

The Regatta Mystery- this one stars Parker Pyne and a teenage girl says she can fool a diamond merchant and get his good luck charm diamond away from him. This was quite good. I'm not sure I have read a Parker Pyne mystery from Christie before but I liked him 4.5/5

The Mystery of the Baghdad Chest - this one was a good Poirot but it didn't capture m I quite enjoyed this short story collection. Started it for the 12 Days of Christmas & Coziness readathon in December and finished it off in January.

How Does Your Garden Grow - This is the first time I had seen Ms. Lemon from the TV shows I've seen of Poirot but it isn't exactly the same character. I did like this one. 4/5

Problem at Pollensa Bay - Parker Pyne helps a woman with her son. Kind of a weird one that I saw coming all along. Not sure I will love the character of Parker Pyne, but the stories are somewhat interesting. 3/5

Yellow Iris - Fun and interesting Poirot where a woman calls vaguely asking for help and he goes to a restaurant where a party is in swing which turns out to be a creepy reenactment of the man's wife's death four years earlier. 4.5/5

Miss Marple Tells a Story - Probably my favorite in the bunch. I can't wait to get through the Poirot tales and start on the Miss Marple ones. She is so funny in a "humblebrag" sort of way and I can just picture an older lady doing this. I need to see if I can find some TV shows with Miss Marple in them once I've read those stories. 5/5

The Dream - I did see this one already on TV so I already knew the outcome. The TV show changed just a few of the details, but overall the story was the same and it was fun to revisit it. 4/5

In a Glass Darkly - Her only story that includes a little paranormal or sci fi? Not sure, but still creepy and good. 4.75/5

Problem at Sea - Good Poirot story again. I knew who did it but not exactly how. Very fun. 4.5/5

Recommend! Overall, I would give it a little over a 4, but for the sake of Goodreads, I'll just stick to the 4 stars.

9 short stories - I haven't read any of these before, but I have seen the adaptations. As short stories they are OK, the adaptations were excellent :-)
